A Child's Love
A child's love is like a whisper,
given in little ways we do not hear.
But if you listen closely
it will be very clear.
They often do not say it loud,
but in how they come to you...
Daddy, will you play with me?
Mommy, tie my shoe?
The many ways they tell you,
changes as they grow.
Dad, I made the team today!
Mom, I've Got to go!
Pop, I need some money,
You see there's... this girl at school.
Mama, I met a boy today
and Wow, he's so cool!
Dad, I've got something to tell you...
I think she is the one!
Mom, he asked me to marry him.
Would you love him as your son?
Dad, I've got some news for you...
It's going to be a boy!
Mom, I'm kind of scared of this,
yet I'm filled with joy!
A child's love is like a whisper,
given in little ways we do not hear.
But if you listen closely,
it will be very clear.
They often do not say it loud,
but in how they come to you...
Grandpa, will you play with me?
Grandma, tie my shoe?
It is never ending.
A blessing from above.
Listen to the whispers
of a child's love.

A Child To Love
You can have your wealth and riches
All the things so many seek,
Position, power, and success,
The fame you long to keep.
You can earn as much as you wish,
Reach a status high above,
But none of these can equal
Having one sweet child to love.
'Tis the greatest gift from heaven,
Little arms that hold you tight,
And a kiss so soft and gentle
When you tuck them in at night.
A million precious questions
And each story often read,
Two eyes so bright and smiling,
And a darling tousled head.
God has never matched the goodness
Of a trusting little face,
Or a heart so full of laughter
Spreading sunshine every place.
A child to hold and cuddle,
'Tis a gift from God above,
And the world is so much brighter
When you have a child to love.

Children
There are little eyes upon you
and they're watching night and day.
There are little ears that quickly
take in every word you say.
There are little hands all eager
to do anything you do;
And little children dreaming
of the day they'll be like you.
You're the little children's idol,
you're the wisest of the wise.
In their little minds about you
no suspicions ever rise.
They believe in you devoutly,
hold all you say and do;
they will say and do, in your way
when they're grown up just like you.
There's a wide-eyed little student
who believes you're always right;
and their eyes are always opened,
and they watch you day and night.
You are setting an example
every day in all you do;
For the little child who's waiting
to grow up to be like you.

Legacy of an Adopted Child
Once there were two women
Who never knew each other.
One you do not remember
The other you call Mother.
Two different lives
Shaped to make you one.
One became your guiding star
The other became your sun.
The first one gave you life
And the second taught you to live it.
The first gave you a need for love
The second was there to give it.
One gave you a nationality
The other gave you a name.
One gave you a talent
The other gave you aim.
One gave you emotions
The other calmed your fears.
One saw your first sweet smile
The other dried your tears.
One sought for you a home
That she could not provide.
The other prayed for a child
And her hope was not denied.
And now you ask me through your tears
The age old question unanswered through the years.
Heredity or environment
Which are you a product of?
Neither my Darling, neither.
Just two different kinds of Love.

Why God Made Little Boys
God made a world out of his dreams, of wondrous mountains, oceans and streams, prairies and plains and wooded land, then paused and thought... "I need someone to stand on top of the mountains, to conquer the seas, explore the plains and climb the trees, someone to start small and grow sturdy, strong like a tree"
He created boys, full of spirit and fun, to explore and conquer, to romp and run, with dirty faces, banged up chins, with courageous hearts and boyish grins. When He had completed the task He'd begun, He surely said, "That's a job well done."

Why God Made Little Girls
God made the world with its towering trees, majestic mountains and restless seas Then paused and said, "It needs one more thing... Someone to laugh and dance and sing to walk in the woods and gather flowers to commune with nature in quiet hours."
So God made little girls with laughing eyes and bouncing curls with joyful hearts and infectious smiles enchanting ways and feminine wiles. And when He'd completed the task He'd begun, He was pleased and proud of the job He'd done. For the world when seen through a little girl's eyes greatly resembles Paradise
